Privacy Policy

Tasted by (“we”, “us”) is an influencer-curated map of restaurants. This policy explains what limited data we process when you use tastedby.com and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short because we collect very little.
Who is responsible for your data
Tasted by is operated by Digics, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 85601802. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@tastedby.com.
We do not have user accounts
Tasted by has no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles. We do not ask for your name, email address, or password to browse the map or any list. Because there is no account, there is no account data to collect, sell, or lose.
Saved restaurants stay in your browser
When you save a restaurant, the list is stored only in your own browser using local storage (under the key tastedby:saved). It is never sent to our servers and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it. The same applies to the anonymous visitor avatar shown on your saved map: it is generated and kept locally.
Location, only if you allow it
If you use the “near me” feature, your browser asks for permission to share your location. We use that location only to center the map and sort nearby spots, in your browser, for that session. We do not store your location or transmit it to our servers. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your browser settings.
Analytics
We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool to understand aggregate traffic, such as which lists are popular. It does not set advertising cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites. Because no personal data is stored on your device for this purpose, no cookie consent banner is required.
Content from food creators
The restaurants on Tasted by are tied to public posts that food creators published on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. When a post or its preview is embedded, that platform may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We do not control those platforms. The map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap, and our content is managed in Sanity; both may process technical request data as processors on our behalf.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Since we hold no account data, most requests will simply confirm that we store nothing tied to your identity. Email hello@tastedby.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted clearly.
